"The primary goal of training is to achieve better performance during competition. The traditional principle has been to train as hard as possible. However, new investigations show that the nutritional environment can alter the molecular response to an exercise session, allowing the athlete to "train smarter" or achieve a greater adaptation to the same exercise stimulus. This session will address nutrient manipulations which, when undertaken in a periodised manner, will allow a combination of training harder and training smarter to lead to optimal performance outcomes. A format of 10 questions, 10 experts will showcase new insights into this emerging field."
Also, PINES Members, note your calendar for the annual PINES Member update meeting at ACSM on Thursday,
May 30th at the Nutrition Interest Group Meeting at 5:45 PM. Please Check ACSM listings for accommodations.
We are the association that connects Professionals in Nutrition for Exercise and Sport (PINES) around the world and promotes their interaction. We believe that excellence in sport nutrition is achieved worldwide by linking national sport nutrition organizations and their professionals first.
Second, PINES wants to promote a global sport nutrition movement, engaging individuals and their communities to link with their closest PINES Global Networks, while encouraging them to develop their own platforms.
PINES is also here for the Public, especially Athletes and Active Individuals who want to tap into international resources. Most of all, however, PINES strives to educate athletes and active individuals in their respective countries through the Professional PINES Members living and working there!
